Dynamic stabilization provides vital support for the spine in the case of spinal deformity or degenerative discs, and is an alternative to standard spinal fusion techniques. This procedure retains some of the mobility in the spine, whereas fusion eliminates all movement for complete stabilization. In terms of recovery time, dynamic stabilization is comparable to traditional fusion surgeries. Many patients will be released from care the same day, though some may be required to stay a day or two for observation, depending on their progress healing and any other underlying conditions.  

Most patients are able to return to their normal routines within six weeks, but this varies considerably from one patient to another. It is important that you do not engage in any activity that our doctors has not released you for, or you risk complicating the healing process.
